Race Finish: Annapolis MD

For 8 (to 12) consecutive days they have been forging their quiet bicycles from their California start to the finish line in Maryland. Their determination pushes their exhausted, sleep-deprived bodies forward. When they arrive at the finish line in Annapolis, their crew will sweep them away to where they can collect the rest they will need. But when they come to TS52 and the Penalty Box they still cannnot rest. They must continue their drive and their inner strength to surge them the last 55 miles to that finish. Yet if the RAAM officials rule that they must serve penance for any infractions along the course, the Penalty Box is where they pay their time. They will be in a hold at Mt Airy until paid. Thus it is in Mt Airy, at the Penalty Box, where enthusiasts and the local community will have the best opportunity to be closest to the 'World's Toughest Bicycle Racers!'
